Derek Beggs After
leaving art college, his first venture into the art world was
producing sets, props, artwork and special effects for the
film and television industries. Various jobs followed and now
in full time employment as a publishing administrator in
Munich, Germany, which gives him the freedom to paint and draw
what inspires him rather than what is required: this was the
spur he needed to take up art again as a serious occupation
and he is now exhibiting three or four times a year in Europe.
His first exhibition in the United States of America will be
later this year. His work is inspired primarily by nature and
by the natural world, with colours, textures and the feeling
of a scene often taking priority over figurative aspects.
