Ronald Togneri
Born in the Bridge of Allen,
Stirlingshire of Scots Italian descent, both sets of
grand-parents having emigrated from Barga in Northern Tuscany.
Ronald and his sister Veronica (a famous textile designer)
trained at the Glasgow School of Art. He began his career in
art education in 1961 and spent most of his career in
Kintyre. Ronald began seriously to paint in the seventies and
retired from teaching in 1996.The seascapes of Ronald are
subtle mixes of greens, blues and greys with moods that change
from the tranquillity of the west coast sea at peace, to the
fury of the gale.
